Today, Kairat Kelimbetov, Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) met with Lu Hongxiang, the Chairman of Jumore.
Jumore is the world's first and only cross-border e-commerce platform for commodities, goods and services. The AIFC is interested in Chinese colleagues’ experience in terms of the development of financial techniques and financial instruments. It should be noted, that the company also cooperate with more than 60 countries, including the G20 countries and the countries along the "Silk Road Economic Belt".
Kairat Kelimbetov, Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre pointed out, that development of financial technologies will only increase the cost-effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries. "It is crucial for the AIFC’s effective operation to attract new financial technologies and investors working in these areas", - Kelimbetov said.
According to Lu Hongxiang, the Chairman of Jumore, companies are interested in the markets of countries along the Silk Road. "We welcome the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of financial technology market development", - Lu Hongxiang said.
The AIFC and Jumore cooperate in the framework of the Memorandum signed between the two centres in 2016.
AIFC. In December 2015 President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Constitutional law “On the Astana International Financial Centre” (AIFC). The aim of the AIFC is to form a leading international centre of financial services. For the first time in post-Soviet region Common law framework will be introduced in the AIFC. English shall be the official language of the AIFC.
The objectives of the AIFC are to attract investment into the economy through the establishment of an attractive environment for investment in the financial services, develop local capital markets, ensuring their integration with the international capital markets, and develop markets for insurance and banking services and for Islamic financing in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
