On October 21, 2021, the AIFC Green Finance Centre held a webinar on “New Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan: priority principles of state environmental policy; new requirements in environmental legislation” in cooperation with Haller Lomax law firm.

Arman Bigazin, Partner at Haller Lomax law firm, was a speaker at the webinar. Arman actively advises the government in the development of Kazakhstan legislation. Moreover, he was a member of the working group and participated in the development of the new Environmental Code.

At the webinar, Arman dwelled on the preconditions for the development of a new Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the principles of state environmental policy, as well as conducted a comparative analysis of the provisions and spoke about the main developments in the legislation.

During his presentation, Arman spoke in detail about new approaches to environmental impact assessment, environmental permits, environmental damages and liability for such damages.
