SkyBridge Invest JSC has successfully launched the first-ever in Kazakhstan algorithmic trading fund “SBI Adamant Fund”.
The favorable regime of the Astana International Financial Center that is in line with the most progressive Western standards, as well as the productive joint work of SkyBridge Invest JSC and AIFC, made it possible to create an unprecedented fund that uses algorithmic strategies for portfolio management.
This is a completely new offering developed in-house in SBI for the investors in Kazakhstan. At its core, this unique locally developed algorithmic strategy is based on portfolio risk targeting, with the main components being S&P500 Index, Gold and US Treasury bonds.
Taking into account the market trends the algorithm’s risk control logic automatically calculates the portfolio structure and proactively balances out overall portfolio composition by diversifying the portfolio exposures across uncorrelated assets. This allows the Fund not only to earn for its investors, but also can significantly reduce losses during periods of large falls in the stock market.
Since 2017, SBI has been actively investing in portfolio strategies using this algorithmic trading. The historical cumulative profitability of the algorithmic strategy applied to its proprietary portfolio as of 05/25/2020 stands 43.41% while the average annual return 14.98% with a risk level of 8%. Sharpe Ratio is 1.41.
This return period has included multiple periods of sharp volatility in the global financial markets, including the recent drop in the S&P500 index during the March-April selloff. Since the beginning of 2020 the S&P500 index has lost -22.85%, while the SBI algorithmic strategy has achieved a positive return of + 3.76%.*
SBI Adamant Fund offers investors three classes of shares with different risk level and profitability.
Investors in the SBI Adamant Fund can be both individuals and legal entities who already have experience working with securities and satisfy the requirements for “professional clients” at the AIFC. The minimum amount of investment in the Fund is USD 50,000. The Fund subscriptions are open on a monthly basis. Fund withdrawals are allowed on quarterly basis, with the minimum lock-up period of one year.
