On August 23, 2021, the CEO of the AIFC Green Finance Centre (hereinafter referred to as the Centre) Aidar Kazybayev and the Chief Business Officer of the Centre Manas Gizhduaniyev visited the city of Minsk on a business trip, where they held a meeting with the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Belarus Y.Seliverstov and the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Belarus O.Tarasevich in order to discuss issues on the placement of the debut green bonds of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus.

In addition, representatives of the Centre took part in a meeting of the working group on green financing of the Republic of Belarus, whose job is to select eligible green projects for further financing within the framework of the planned green bonds issue of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus.

As a result of meetings, an agreement was reached on the provision of consulting support from the Centre to state bodies of the Republic of Belarus on the selection of green projects for the subsequent search for green financing instruments. Thus, in this direction, the Centre plans to analyse the environmental programs of the Republic of Belarus, as well as to determine the volume and possible sources of funding, thereby this work will provide the necessary practical support to the Republic of Belarus in the implementation of the main provisions of the Paris Agreement.
