The AIFC Court and IAC are delighted to invite participants to join, free of charge, the ONLINE COURSE: "International Arbitration in Action at the IAC". This training course will be taught by Dr. Ilia Rachkov, Partner, Nektorov, Savaliev & Partners, in Moscow, Russia. It will provide comprehensive training for the first time on the application of the IAC’s international standard arbitration procedural rules, the IAC Rules on Arbitration and Mediation 2018 (“the IAC Rules”).  It will provide practical insight and “real-life” examples to enhance knowledge and application of the rules by lawyers and other professionals representing clients in arbitration proceedings under the IAC Rules at the IAC.

Session 1: An Introduction to Arbitration Proceedings at the IAC and to the IAC Rules 2018 (21 September 2020)

Session 2: Preliminary Stages of Arbitration Proceedings (Articles 3-18 of the IAC Rules) (22 September 2020)

Session 3: Arbitration Hearing Practice (Articles 19-26 of the IAC Rules) (23 September 2020)

Session 4: Arbitration Awards and Additional Proceedings (Articles 27-32 of the IAC Rules) (24 September 2020)

About the trainer: 

Professor Ilia Rachkov is a member of the IAC Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators.  He is a Partner at the law firm Nektorov, Savaliev & Partners, in Moscow, Russia. He is a Professor of International Economic Law at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. 

He specialises in dispute resolution, arbitration and international trade law.  He has considerable experience of international and domestic arbitration proceedings and he advises leading commercial parties and state bodies in Russia and internationally.  He was listed in The Best Lawyers (Russia) rating in the fields of Litigation (2021, 2020) and Mergers and Acquisitions Law (2021). 

He has a BA from MGIMO, and law qualifications and further studies from the Moscow State Lomonossov University, the French University College (Collège Français Universitaire), the universities of Regensburg and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (Germany), Nijmegen and The Hague Academy of International Law (The Netherlands), and The International Faculty of Comparative Law (Graz/Austria and Strasbourg/France).  He has post-doctoral qualifications from the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He speaks five languages fluently: Russian, English, German, French and Polish.
