Investor Day is held in Astana under the auspices of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO)

On October 6, the Investor’s Day conference opened in Astana with the participation of representatives of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and international experts, organized by the AIFC Bureau for Continuing Professional Development.

The event is aimed at the development of investment literacy on the protection of investors' interests, the professional development of Kazakhstani specialists and is held for the first time in Astana as part of the World Investor Week 2018 (WIW) under the auspices of IOSCO in conjunction with Astana Financial Servisec Authority (AFSA). During the “Investor's Day”, experts from the UK, Australia, France, Italy gave presentations with information sessions, workshops and guest lectures on topics relevant to the financial market of Kazakhstan. Conference participants also got acquainted with the programs of prestigious professional international certifications from the AIFC Bureau.

Among the important events, “Investor’s Day” is the official opening of the first Examination Center of the British Royal Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) in Astana, which is a global professional body for professionals in the financial and investment sectors. This event will allow to prepare high-class specialists in the world-class securities and investment industry based on the AIFC Bureau.

In support of the global initiative WIW-2018, the Astana International Financial Center and the AIFC Bureau covered a number of the largest cities of Kazakhstan, namely Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Atyrau, Karaganda, Kostanay and Ust-Kamenogorsk, in which thematic events, meetings were held with academic and business circles in order to increase the level of financial and investment literacy of the population. In total, the information campaign covered 7 cities, 15 universities, 5 schools and more than 10 business sites throughout the country. It is worth noting that the World Investor Week is held for the second time and covers 80 jurisdictions on six continents.

The key task of WIW is to highlight the importance of education and investor protection, as well as to foster investor learning opportunities, given in today's rapidly changing financial-technology and innovation environment.

World Investors Week 2018 (WIW-2018) is held under the auspices of the International Organization of Securities Commissions IOSCO, October 1-7, 2018 in 80 countries of the world. During the week, more than 80 financial regulators and interested financial market participants from 6 continents will hold various activities aimed at informing about the fundamentals of investing and protecting consumers of financial services.
