A platform for trading environmental instruments was launched in February 2025 on the basis of the Astana International Exchange.

Goal: to support the transition to a low-carbon economy and the development of the environmental instruments market in Central Asia.

* Environmental instruments: renewable energy certificates, voluntary carbon units and CO2 emission allowances

I-REC Certificates

I-REC confirms the production of renewable electricity and allows companies to compensate Scope 2 emissions under ESG reporting.

Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM)

We are expanding the range of environmental instruments on AIX by bringing leading voluntary carbon standards (Verra, Gold) to the platform for companies to access global emission compensation mechanisms and improve ESG reporting (Scope 1 and 3).

Emission Trading Scheme

The AIFC offers an advanced infrastructure for the national emission trading system based on the best international practices, which guarantees pricing transparency and efficient market functioning.
