AIFC and the National Bank of Kazakhstan Present the Museum of Trust and Collection of golden coins in honor of Celebration of the National Currency Day
Ahead of Kazakhstan’s National Currency Day, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) hosted a joint presentation of the AIFC’s corporate Museum of Trust and the National Bank of Kazakhstan’s gold coin collection. The event brought together media representatives and experts in economics, culture, and history.
The presentation of the AIFC Museum of Trust was the central highlight of the event. The new museum is conceived as a space for institutional memory, where the history of Kazakhstan’s financial relations is revealed through the prism of trust – the main intangible asset and a key factor in sustainable economic development.

The museum’s exhibition showcases the development of the country’s financial system – from the era of the Great Silk Road to the modern-day development of the Astana International Financial Centre.
The museum features seven themed halls and more than 40 rare artifacts, including ancient coins, weighing scales, historical documents, bonds and shares from the early 20th century, as well as the first currency issued in independent Kazakhstan. Modern interactive installations and art objects create a bridge between history and the digital future. One of the most popular features among visitors was the digital shanyrak, displaying in real-time the stock quotes of issuers listed on the Astana International Exchange (AIX).

“The creation of the Museum of Trust marks an important step in strengthening the synergy between the financial infrastructure of the Centre and the cultural initiatives of the city. In this process, AIFC acts not only as a financial centre but also as a platform where the tradition of trust, agreements, and guarantees continues — the very foundations upon which the modern economy and international cooperation are built,” noted in AIFC.
A special part of the programme was the presentation of the gold coin collection of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reflecting the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Each coin is an artistic representation of significant historical events, symbols of statehood, and national values.

The event concluded with an interactive financial quiz, during which participants tested their knowledge of the history of the tenge and Kazakhstan’s financial system.
