AIFC Expat Centre Launches Service Point in Almaty

The Expat Centre of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) has launched a pilot service point in Almaty. This new initiative aims to make support for foreign investors and employees of AIFC participants located in the city more accessible, convenient, and efficient. The pilot project is part of AIFC’s ongoing efforts to develop its client infrastructure and expand the presence of Expat Centre services in Almaty.

At the new service point, clients may obtain advisory and informational support on key matters related to the stay and business activities of foreign nationals in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Clients can access consultations on visa and immigration services and procedures, as well as information and support regarding the Expat Centre AIFC Loyalty Club programme, including partner offers and privileges. The Expat Centre assists clients in navigating the requirements for extension of visa and migration status, including applicable rules, timelines, and legal grounds. It also provides guidance on documentation requirements, including document checklists, prescribed forms, and compliance with formal submission standards. In addition, clients receive clarification on available service formats and the sequence of further procedural steps. In accordance with the current territorial jurisdiction framework, the formal execution and processing of state procedures for AIFC participants continues to be carried out in Astana. During the pilot phase, the Almaty service point operates as an additional support and facilitation channel and does not require on-site representatives of state authorities.

“Launching the pilot service point in Almaty is a practical step that enables us to be closer to our clients and provide support where it is genuinely required. Our objective is to create a clear and convenient customer journey for foreign investors and professionals, from initial consultation and guidance through to support in accessing available services and the Expat Centre AIFC Loyalty Club programme,” noted Ainur Zhumatova, Director of the AIFC Expat Centre.

As part of the pilot project, the AIFC Expat Centre is establishing relationships with state authorities and public service providers to ultimately expand the availability of procedures in Almaty and provide a more comprehensive client support service. The Expat Centre also welcomes cooperation with companies and organisations interested in supporting Almaty’s international community through joint initiatives and partnerships.
