AIFC Green Finance Centre presented its opportunities at a webinar on the topic: “Attracting financing and subsidisation tools in the renewable energy sector”
Representatives of the AIFC Green Finance Centre (GFC) took part in a webinar on the topic: “Attracting financing and subsidisation tools in the renewable energy sector (RES).”
The webinar was organised by AIFC Business Connect.
Chief Business Officer of the Centre for Green Finance Manas Gizhduaniev presented the activities and opportunities of the GFC to attract investments in the field of renewable energy with innovative debt instruments such as green and social bonds.
The debut issue of the green bond on the AIFC Exchange was especially noted, marking the launch of the green capital market in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region.
During the event, participants discussed instruments for financing and subsidising renewable energy projects within international and state development institutions and key requirements for the selection of projects.

The Astana International Financial Centre was created by the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Leader of the Nation, Nur-Sultan Nazarbayev as part of the “100 steps to implement five institutional reforms” national program. The Centre’s development strategy until 2025 was approved by the Management council of the AIFC during the council’s meeting on July 2, 2020. In accordance with the strategy, the vision of AIFC is in becoming the leading financial centre in the region that includes Central Asia, the Caucasus, EAEU countries, western China, Mongolia, and Eastern Europe.
