UN Women’s theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is “DigitAll: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. The theme recognizes the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all.
On the eve of the International Women’s Day, the female leaders of digital industry of Kazakhstan with an extensive experience across the digital government; business and innovation; digital literacy and skills development rang the opening bell for trading on the AIX.
Assel Mukazhanova, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the AIX, noted:
“Our goal at AIX is not just encouraging women to generate ideas and develop digital services that add real value for the market, but also contribute to the change of deep rooted social and gender norms in IT, finances, and corporate governance throughout Kazakhstan. We are fully supportive to inclusion of women in social and economic digital transitions, and see some amazing results on the way. As an evidence during the recent IPO of KazMunayGas the Tabys, AIX unique mobile investment app we have seen a hike in female investors’ base which was up from 30% to almost 50%. It is an outstanding result however we understand that there is still a potential for further progress and improvement.”
Almost 58% of AIX workforce comprises women. Furthermore, a one-third of our female staff members hold leadership positions in the company, including representatives at the top management and the AIX Board of Directors.
