Astana International Financial Centre becomes a patron member of Global Blockchain Business Council during first Blockchain Central Conference in Kazakhstan
On June 27-28, the Astana International Financial Centre (hereinafter – AIFC) in partnership with the Global Blockchain Business Council (hereinafter – GBBC) hosts the first Blockchain Central Conference (hereinafter – Conference) in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. The AIFC officially becomes a patron member of the GBBC during the Conference.
The GBBC is the leading industry association for the blockchain technology ecosystem, which brings together innovative organizations and founding thought-leaders from over 50 countries to advance understanding of blockchain technology amongst global regulators and business leaders.
“Blockchain technology offers an array of solutions for improving safety and scalability in the financial sector. Hosting the Blockchain Central conference in partnership with the Global Blockchain Business Council is an important milestone for the Astana International Financial Centre in supporting the adoption and development of blockchain technology in the region,” – mentions AIFC Governor Kairat Kelimbetov.

The conference serves as a platform to discuss blockchain solutions and their impact on financial services, banking, public sector and smart cities. It includes representatives from the GBBC, Bitfury, Orbs, Soramitsu, STHORM, China Blockchain Research Center, and other leading companies in the blockchain ecosystem from all around the world.

For the first time in the post-Soviet space, the principles of English law will be introduced, the official language of the financial center will be English.
AIFC’s tasks are to assist in attracting investments to the country’s economy by creating an attractive environment for investing in financial services, developing the securities market of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ensuring its integration with international capital markets.
