Educational Programmes of the AIFC Academy to be introduced at Manash Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University
On April 8, a ceremony was held in Petropavlovsk to transfer minor programmes developed by the Academy of the Astana International Financial Centre to M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University. The educational modules cover key areas of modern finance and help students acquire relevant knowledge, enhancing their competitiveness in the labor market.
The minor programmes were developed by the AIFC Academy with the support of Freedom Broker through the Freedom Shapagat corporate foundation.
The minor programmes are short-term certification courses integrated into the general educational curricula of higher education institutions. The duration of these programmes typically ranges from three to four months, depending on their type and level of complexity.
The transferred minor programmes include courses such as «Derivative Securities: Options», «Asset Management», «Financial Market Regulation», and «International Commercial Dispute Resolution». These courses provide students with additional opportunities to expand their skills and knowledge in the financial sector.
Aigul Kazbekova, project manager at the AIFC Academy, noted: «Minor programmes enable students to respond flexibly to changes in the labor market and acquire in-demand skills in promising areas. This approach strengthens their professional competencies, while the financial sector benefits from an inflow of well-trained specialists with up-to-date knowledge. For the AIFC Academy, contributing to the development of higher education in Kazakhstan is an opportunity to share expertise and support the formation of a new generation of professionals for the industry».

“The transfer of minor programs is not merely the introduction of new courses. It represents a systemic step towards updating educational content and integrating advanced knowledge and practices into the learning process. In a rapidly changing technological environment, universities must not only keep pace with the times but also shape the agenda of the future: preparing specialists capable of operating in new digital and financial realities. This project serves as a striking example of effective collaboration between business and education. We sincerely thank Freedom Broker for its contribution to human capital development and support for initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education. Special thanks to the AIFC Academy for developing modern, practice-oriented courses that meet international standards,” emphasized Yerbol Issakayev, Chairman of the Board and Rector of the M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University.

Ruslan Dzhumashev, managing director of the Freedom Shapagat corporate foundation, stated: “Supporting educational initiatives is an important part of the ESG agenda of Freedom Holding Corp. and the Freedom Shapagat Foundation, as well as our long-term investments in human capital development in Kazakhstan. The support of the AIFC Academy’s minor programmes is aimed at preparing specialists with up-to-date knowledge and skills that are in demand in the labor market. We believe that such projects strengthen the link between education and practice, contributing to sustainable development and enhancing the competitiveness of young professionals.”

The integration of the minor programmes into the university’s educational process is expected to begin in next academic year.
