Investment attractiveness rating of regions will be developed in Kazakhstan
Within the framework of the visit of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – ASPR), the Agency for Strategic Initiatives of the Russian Federation (hereinafter – ASI) together with the Astana International Financial Centre Authority (hereinafter – AIFCA) and the NTI Platform signed an Agreement on cooperation in improving the investment climate and developing the institutional environment, digital and technological development, building human potential in entrepreneurship and public administration; implementation of projects and initiatives aimed at regional development, environmental preservation and adaptation to climate change (“green economy”).
The document was signed by Svetlana Chupsheva, Director-General of ASI, Kairat Kelimbetov, Chairman of ASPR, Yernur Rysmagambetov, Board Chairman of AIFCA, and Dmitry Peskov, Director-General of NTI Platform.
In order to implement the points of the Agreement, it is planned to create a joint Office of Strategic Initiatives, which will include representatives of the Parties, whose task will be to create and scale-up joint development projects.
Within the framework of the Agreement, a rating of the investment attractiveness of the regions of Kazakhstan will be designed and carried out, taking into account the ASI’s experience in creating a similar rating of the state of the investment climate in Russian regions.
“The rating motivates management teams to constantly change. I hope this experience will be useful to our colleagues. Together we will continue to work in this direction ”- noted Svetlana Chupsheva, ASI General Director.
“The signing of the Agreement opens up great opportunities for us to jointly develop and promote projects and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens. Successful implementation of joint initiatives for the development of education, technology, investment climate, tourism, and ecology of the two countries will have a significant impact on the development of the entire region as a whole, “said the chairman of the ASPR Kairat Kelimbetov.
For its part, AIFCA will inform about investment opportunities and the system of state support for foreign investors in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as about new promising areas of cooperation, including in terms of products and services provided by the Astana International Financial Centre.
The NTI platform will assist in the design of joint programs in education, unmanned vehicles, environmental monitoring, medicine, and other fields, as well as training and retraining programs for people to work with big data.
