Astana International Financial Centre sums up the results of 2021

The AIFC is growing. 1155 companies from 60 countries of the world are already AIFC participants.

The assets of the companies in the financial sector of the AIFC increased 2.5 times and exceeded $ 1 billion.

The AIFC carries out the instructions of the Head of State to reach self-sufficiency. For 2021, the participants of the Center paid 7 billion tenges in taxes – 32% more than in 2020. At the same time, the reduction of the AIFC budget application will continue – from 11.8 billion tenges in 2021 to 9.9 billion tenges in 2022.

The AIFC is one of the factors in maintaining the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Since the launch through the AIFC platform, $ 6 billion of investments have been attracted to the economy of Kazakhstan, including direct investments – $ 4.3 billion, portfolio investments – $ 1.7 billion.

The volume of attracted equity capital on the AIX Exchange amounted to USD 321 million, debt capital – USD 1.4 billion.

Trading volume on AIX totaled $ 298.5 million. Compared to 2020, this figure has increased more than 5 times.

The AIX Qazaq Index (AIXQI), a market capitalization index of companies associated with Kazakhstan, was launched.

The AIFC is recognized as a reputable and beneficial venue for the resolution of commercial and civil disputes. The total number of resolved disputes reached 898, including 20 cases in the AIFC Court, 878 cases in the International Arbitration Center.

The AIFC attracts leading international asset management companies. 24 investment companies and 6 investment funds are registered. The aggregate amount of assets under management (AUM) is $ 736 million, advisable assets (AUA) – $ 1.26 billion.

The AIFC makes a significant contribution to the development of the retail investment. Investments in exchange-traded notes through the Tabys app have reached $ 2.5 million. More than 15 thousand accounts have been opened in the application for storing exchange notes.

The AIFC maintains productive interaction with government agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The key event was the adoption of the Rules for Currency Regulation and Information Exchange in the AIFC, developed jointly by the Committee of the Center for Regulation of Financial Services, the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

To improve the quality of work with investors, a special body was created from the employees of JSC “NC” KAZAKH INVEST “and the AIFC – Task Force. His task is to study investment projects and their end-to-end support from structuring to the start of implementation.

The AIFC is one of the countries and regional leaders in the practical implementation of the ESG agenda. The volume of the market for sustainable financing instruments exceeded USD 200 million.

The volume of issued “green” and social bonds on the AIX Exchange amounted to 38.4 billion tenges. The volume of investments attracted through the AIFC Green Finance Center amounted to 67.9 billion tenges.

AIFC is a regional center for the development of startups and new technologies. In 2021, the Fintech Hub of the AIFC was transformed into the Tech Hub of the AIFC, taking into account the active work of the Affiliated Center of the Fourth Industrial Revolution of the WEF.

The AIFC is popular as an assistant for foreigners living and working in Kazakhstan. In 2021, the AIFC Expat Center provided more than 15,000 services to foreign experts and investors. For the convenience of expats, a personal manager service has been launched.
