Restoring of nation’s growth prospects, expansion of trade links and central banks have been discussed during «Astana Finance days»

Within the framework of macroeconomic forum «Astana Finance Days 2021» a number of sessions have been held on international development and economic relations issues: «Restoring and Recalibrating Nation’s Growth Prospects » «From Corridor to Economic Platform: New Trade Links» «Building Back Better: Central Banking in a New Era». During the sessions local and international experts have discussed the changes and challenges that await the global economy and developing countries.

During the sessions policy priorities necessary to stimulate the process of economic recovery in the face of new challenges have been identified. The speakers of the sessions are: Jihad Azour - Director, Middle East and Central Asia Department, IMF, Marc Uzan - Executive Director at Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee, Sergey Glazyev – Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics, Eurasian Economic Commission, Michele Geraci - former Undersecretary of State at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development; Romano Prodi – former President of the European Commission and Prime Minister, Ekaterina Trofimova - Financial Services Industry Leader, CIS Partner, Risk Advisor at Deloitte, Brendan Duprey - Director (Associate Professor) at Sustainable Kazakhstan Research Institute at Narxoz University and others. 

Jihad Azour - Director, Middle East and Central Asia Department, IMF noted the importance of developing trade and building an economic corridor between the regions of the Middle East and North Africa and Central Asia.

Marc Uzan - Executive Director at Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee:

"Recalibrating Nations' growth Prospects is about projecting ourselves to a post covid environment.  We are moving to a new ecosystem more green, more digital more inclusive, more sustainable and these are key elements for all countries around the world.  The session will capture this multidimensional analysis and hope to bring good advice for a new chapter on the eve of Kazakhstan 30 years anniversary of independence.

The Astana International Financial Centre was created by the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Leader of the Nation, Nur-Sultan Nazarbayev as part of the “100 steps to implement five institutional reforms” national program. The Centre’s development strategy until 2025 was approved by the Management council of the AIFC during the council’s meeting on July 2, 2020.
