The AIFC launches a universal data platform – the AIFC Data Marketplace

The AIFC is launching the AIFC Data Marketplace – a universal digital platform in Kazakhstan that will connect providers and users of analytical data from a wide range of industries.

International experience shows that the data economy has already become a standard. Platforms such as AWS Data Exchange, Snowflake, Dawex, and Ocean Protocol demonstrate growing demand for the purchase, exchange, and monetization of data in the corporate, government, and research sectors. These platforms enable companies to work securely with datasets, even tokenize them, comply with high regulatory requirements, and use data as an economic asset. Kazakhstan is following this global trend by creating its own infrastructure for transparent and civilized data exchange.

The platform (https://datamarketplace.kz/en) is open to anyone who wants to buy or sell datasets – from large organizations to individual experts. Each dataset is provided under a license, remaining the intellectual property of the provider. Data providers are responsible for the legality of publishing their datasets. The platform creates a safe and convenient environment for data exchange and effective data use.

The platform is already receiving its first inquiries, for example, regarding the commercial real estate market.

The platform may be of particular interest to those working with analytics, modeling, and digital products, including:

  • Data analysts and researchers who require access to high-quality data sources.
  • Marketing, product, and business teams that make data-driven decisions.
  • Research centers and universities conducting scientific and applied studies.
  • Government organizations seeking to develop open data and digital services.
  • Companies wishing to monetize their anonymized data and expand commercialization channels.

«The market is ready to monetize information in an effective and transparent way. Inspired by the practices of Snowflake and Bloomberg, we have built a modern infrastructure that enables this process. Our philosophy is simple: we believe that data is a new type of income and investment, an accessible tool that will allow companies to diversify their business, and investors to find new growth opportunities” noted Talgat Amanbayev, Chief Innovation Officer of the AIFC Authority.

The platform uses a strict legal model for data exchange: a privacy policy, terms of use, and a data transfer agreement. The platform ensures transaction transparency and compliance with the standards and current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the AIFC.
