Head of State received Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre Renat Bekturov

The President was presented with the key achievements of the centre for the first half of 2024, along with plans for the upcoming period, Akorda’s press service reports.

According to Renat Bekturov, to date, over $12 billion in investments have been attracted to Kazakhstan through the AIFC platform, surpassing the target set for 2025. Since the centre’s inception, AIFC participants have contributed KZT 115 billion to the national budget, with KZT 29,8 billion paid in the first half of 2024 alone. The growth in tax revenues is mainly attributed to the increasing number of participants and the intensification of their activities.

In the first half of this year, over 500 companies joined the AIFC, bringing the total number of participants to nearly 3000 and significantly contributing to job creation. By the end of the second quarter of 2024, more than 7600 jobs had been created by companies within the AIFC jurisdiction.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was briefed on measures to support the AIFC business community. Renat Bekturov noted that the first event under the AIFC Community initiative took place in June. The President was also informed about the preparations for the annual Astana Finance Days 2024 event, scheduled for September 5-6.

The head of state emphasized the need for continued development of the centre, highlighting the importance of intensifying efforts across all government agencies and financial institutions to attract investments into Kazakhstan’s economy by leveraging the AIFC’s infrastructure more actively.
