AIFC Academy announces the development of unique minor programs with the support of Freedom Broker and the corporate foundation “Freedom Shapagat”

The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Academy announces the launch of the development of unique minor programs in the current academic year. This project will be implemented in leading universities across the country and will cover ten specialized areas that address the current challenges of the modern financial and economic landscape. These programs, which will include courses specifically focused on financial disciplines, are being developed and implemented in Kazakhstan for the first time.

Minor programs are additional educational offerings within the academic course that provide students with a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge in key areas essential for building a successful career in the financial sector. Participants will have the chance to explore topics related to asset management, financial technology, financial market analysis and regulation, sustainable development, and the resolution of international commercial disputes.

One of the key advantages of minor programs is their practical orientation, focused on the needs of the modern market, and their aim to develop interdisciplinary competencies.

The programs will be designed in line with current industry trends and requirements, allowing students to gain knowledge and skills that are directly in demand by employers. This significantly enhances students’ preparedness for professional activities and increases their competitiveness in the job market.

“The launch of the minor programs will provide undergraduate and graduate students with access to current knowledge and competencies, making them more in-demand specialists in a changing market,” said AIFC Academy Director Aidos Sakenov.

The project is being carried out with the support of Freedom Broker and the corporate foundation “Freedom Shapagat” (the Company and the Foundation). In line with the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, the project aligns with several key ESG goals in sustainable development, including the promotion of scientific knowledge, quality education, decent work and economic growth, and partnerships for sustainable development. Collaboration with the Company and the Foundation ensures access to high-quality educational resources, contributing to the development of human capital in Kazakhstan and preparing specialists capable of effectively responding to the challenges of the modern world.

The launch of the minor programs is planned for the current academic year (2024-2025). The AIFC Academy invites all interested parties to join the project.
