The Chief Executive Officer of the AIFC Green Finance Centre had a meeting with the Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission
The Chief Executive Officer of the AIFC Green Finance Centre, Aidar Kazybayev, had a meeting with the Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Ruslan Beketaev.
The meeting discussed the prospects for cooperation between the AIFC Green Finance Centre and the Eurasian Economic Commission, including on the use of sustainable financing instruments, on holding joint events to disseminate information on green finance instruments for businesses of the EAEU member states.
As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to hold the Advisory Committee on Financial Markets of the Eurasian Economic Commission in the first quarter of 2022 at the Astana International Financial Centre.
Moreover, the parties agreed to work out the issue of holding events on the use of social and sustainable development instruments. The EEC invited Aidar Kazybayev to speak at a webinar organised by the Financial & Banking Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation on December 8 this year.
Also, the meeting participants came to an understanding of the need to update the Action Plan between the Astana International Financial Centre and the Eurasian Economic Commission taking into account new world challenges.

The Astana International Financial Centre was created by the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Leader of the Nation, Nur-Sultan Nazarbayev as part of the “100 steps to implement five institutional reforms” national program. The Centre’s development strategy until 2025 was approved by the Management council of the AIFC during the council’s meeting on July 2, 2020.
