CEO of AIFC Green Finance Centre had an official working visit to Tatarstan

Aidar Kazybayev, CEO of AIFC Green Finance Centre, visited Kazan on April 28-29, 2021 as part of the official delegation of the AIFC within the framework of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council of the EAEU meeting.

During the visit, the delegation visited Innopolis, where they got acquainted with the activities of Innopolis University and the work of the Innopolis Economic Zone. Throughout the productive negotiation about the implementation of the “Memorandum of Understanding between the AIFC, Innopolis JSC and Sakhih Invest LLC”, Sahih Invest LLC showed big interest in cooperation on green financing issues.

On April 28th, 2021, during a visit to Kazan Federal University (hereinafter referred to as – KFU), A. Kazybayev and Vice-Rector for External Relations of the University T. Alishev signed a cooperation agreement between AIFC Green Finance Centre (hereinafter referred to as – GFC) and KFU in order to establish long-term partnerships and to implement joint activities. Kazan University, one of the oldest universities in Russia, one of the top ten educational institutions in the country, is actively developing its academic base. The number of university students is growing, which requires an expansion of the dormitory fund. In this regard, it was proposed to consider opportunities to attract investment in construction through the issuance of green bonds through the AIFC. Cooperation in the development of environmental education and the training of managers, the development of the pharmaceutical industry, telemedicine was also discussed. GFC showed big interest to the reduction of CO2 emission studies of the Institute of Geology, Oil and Gas Technologies that operates based on KFU, as well as the Institute of Ecology and Nature Management and the Carbon Landfill. In this regard, an agreement was reached on the participation of the leadership of the KFU at the Green Growth Forum as speakers.

On April 29th, 2021, A. Kazybayev met with Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission A. Kamalyan in order to discuss the prospects for creating Eurasian companies. Currently, the GFC, together with the EEC, is working on the creation and registration of the Eurasian Export Jewelry Bureau within AIFC. In addition, creation and/or registration of other Eurasian companies at the AIFC are being discussed at the EEC site, in connection with which A. Kazybayev expressed his readiness to provide assistance, including providing the necessary consulting support.

A.Kazybayev invited A.Kamalyan to participate in Astana Finance Days on July 1-2, 2021 as a speaker at the session on the institutionalization of Eurasian integration initiatives.
