The delegation of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the AIFC

Representatives of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Chairman Ismoilov Nurdinjon Muidinkhanovich, got acquainted with the activities of the Astana International Financial Center (hereinafter referred to as the AIFC, the Center).

During the visit the guests were introduced to the work of the AIFC Bodies and Organisations – the Astana International Exchange, the AIFC Court and the International Arbitration Centre (hereinafter referred to as the AIFC Court and IAC) and Astana Financial Services Authority. 

Representatives of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan were informed about the advantages of jurisdiction and the achievements of the Center and familiarized with the products of the AIFC. In particular, they were presented with the e-Justice system of electronic justice, which allows the parties to the dispute to file claims with the AIFC Court and AIFC online from anywhere in the world.

During the visit, it was noted that four companies from Uzbekistan have been already registered with the AIFC. The parties noted the need to further strengthen investment relations.

The Management Council of the Astana International Financial Center is headed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. On July 2, 2020, as part of the meeting of the AIFC Management Council, the Center’s Development Strategy was adopted until 2025. According to it, the vision of the AIFC is to become a leading international financial centre in the region, including Central Asia, the Caucasus, the EAEU countries, Western China, Mongolia and Eastern Europe.
