Representatives of legal services providers registered in the AIFC will be able to join the AIFC Legal Services Board.

It was announced during the Introductory Session on proposed regime for regulation of legal profession in the AIFC. The session was held for the AIFC participants that provide legal services in the AIFC, as well as for other potential participants-lawyers.

Representatives of the AIFC Authority, AFSA and AIFC Academy of Law participated as speakers at the event. They introduced the proposed rules for the registration and regulation within the financial centre, as well as the qualification and professional development requirements for lawyers.

The new regulatory framework will be aimed at ensuring high, professional standards of competence, ethics, and integrity in the delivery of legal services in the AIFC.

The requirements for joining the AIFC Legal Services Board were also announced. Candidates should have a track record of achievement in legal sector in senior positions, good command of English, excellent reputation in legal circles and recognition in international legal rankings.
