AIFC Member “Cerebra” Starts Raising $200 000 on VentureRocket Eurasia platform

The AIFC member and Kazakhstani healthtech startup, “Cerebra”, has launched its fundraising campaign on VentureRocket Eurasia – a startup management environment and Central Asian first startup co-investment platform that connects vetted startups, accredited investors, and other ecosystem members, enabling co-investing in a fully regulated environment.

Founded in 2018, Cerebra (www.cerebra.kz)  is an innovative AI-based automated software solution that helps identify brain stroke within 3 minutes helping to prevent neurological deficiency and as a result, saving human lives. With more than 34% of all hospitals in Kazakhstan already using Cerebra’s beta solution, the startup has been recognized as one of the top regional healthtech solutions and the best innovative startup by leading companies worldwide.

“We use highly specialized artificial intelligence to automate stroke diagnosis. In professional terms, Cerebra is a post-processing software that helps physicians involved in the stroke service to detect early signs of acute stroke in radiological images and clinical data.”, – said Doszhan Zhussupov, the CEO of Cerebra.

The startup is raising $200 000 on the VentureRocket Eurasia platform. The deal will be structured based on the SAFE note, through an SPC, allowing investors to co-invest with VCs and experienced angel investors with a smaller check.

The startup is planning to spend the raised capital on further growth in the Kazakhstani market, as well as the expansion to the UK and Turkey. Based on the capital raised, the startup also plans to complete the CE/UKCA certification, the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) R&D and finalize the stroke R&D (MRI, CTA, CTP). The fundraising campaign will last till the end of September 2022.

In September 2020, Cerebra received $50K as a part of the Kazakhstan Digital Acceleration Program from Quest Ventures (www.questventures.com) – a Central Asian venture capital firm investing in regional startups from fintech, AI, e-commerce, entertainment, food, logistics, and Islamic digital economics.
“Cerebra is a graduate of the first stream of the Kazakhstan Digital Accelerator and the first deep tech in history that attracts investments from Venture funds”, – said Ruslan Rakymbay, Investment Director of Quest Ventures.

“Cerebra is an up-and-coming deep tech startup. Its success will definitely bring impact to the further development of the AI and healthtech industry in Kazakhstan”, – shared Arslan Kudiyar, CEO at VentureRocket Eurasia.
