AIFC Expands Cooperation with Bybit Kazakhstan and Binance Kazakhstan under the Investment Tax Residency Programme

Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) is expanding its cooperation with Bybit Kazakhstan and Binance Kazakhstan under the AIFC Investment Tax Residency Programme (ITRP), aimed at enhancing mechanisms for investment in digital assets.

Since its launch in September 2022, the Programme has been continuously developed to expand opportunities for attracting international investors to Kazakhstan. The Programme enables foreign nationals to invest in eligible AIFC instruments and subsequently obtain a long-term investor visa and tax residency under simplified conditions, subject to the applicable requirements.

In August 2026, AIFC added digital assets to the list of eligible investment instruments under the Programme. Investments in digital assets made through AFSA-licensed platforms can now be recognised under the Programme, provided that the investor maintains a minimum investment of USD 150,000 throughout their participation in the Programme.

These platforms include Bybit Kazakhstan and Binance Kazakhstan, both registered with the AIFC and operating under the relevant AFSA licences. The cooperation provides investors with access to licensed digital asset platforms, allowing their investments to be recognised under the Programme.

Bakhtiyar Tleubekov, Chairman of the Management Board of the AIFC Authority, noted:

“Introducing digital assets into the AIFC Investment Tax Residency Programme is a significant step in advancing Kazakhstan’s investment infrastructure. We are consistently expanding the range of instruments available to attract international capital while building a transparent and regulated environment aligned with global trends in digital finance. The updated programme creates new opportunities for investors within the AIFC ecosystem and provides further momentum to the development of the digital asset market in Kazakhstan.”

AIFC’s cooperation with Bybit Kazakhstan and Binance Kazakhstan supports the practical implementation of the new investment instrument under the ITRP and expands international investors’ access to digital assets through licensed platforms.
