Educational programs of the AIFC Academy to be introduced at S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University
On April 24, a ceremony was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk to transfer minor programs developed by the AIFC Academy to S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University (EKU). The educational modules cover key areas of modern finance and help students acquire relevant knowledge, enhancing their competitiveness in the labor market.

Minor programs are short-term, certification-based courses that form part of higher education curricula. Their typical duration ranges from 3 to 4 months, depending on their type and level of complexity.
Aigul Kazbekova, Project Manager at the AIFC Academy, noted: “Minor programs enable students to quickly adapt to the dynamic demands of the financial market. We provide not just theory, but practice-oriented tools that will give graduates from Ust-Kamenogorsk a significant advantage in employment. Our goal is to build a bridge between academic foundations and real business, and our partnership with S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University is an important step in developing a talent pool for Kazakhstan’s new economy.”

Among the minor programs are courses such as “Derivative Securities – Options,” “Asset Management,” “Financial Market Regulation,” and “International Commercial Dispute Resolution.” The study of these disciplines provides EKU students with additional opportunities to expand their professional skills in the financial sector.
Mukhtar Tolegen, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, emphasized: “I would like to express my special gratitude to the Academy of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) for the high quality and modern approach to developing educational courses. Thanks to your professionalism, the introduction of relevant knowledge and international standards, our students will receive quality education that meets the demands of the time and the global labor market.”
The minor programs were developed by the AIFC Academy with the support of Freedom Broker through the corporate foundation “Freedom Shapagat.”
Ruslan Dzhumashev, Managing Director of the Corporate Foundation “Freedom Shapagat,” noted: “For Freedom Holding Corp. and the Freedom Shapagat Foundation, the development of education is a strategic priority. The partnership with S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University is an important step in supporting regional universities and unlocking the potential of students in East Kazakhstan. The transfer of AIFC Academy minor programs will allow EKU students to gain practice-oriented knowledge and enhance their competitiveness in the labor market.”

The implementation of the minor programs into the university’s academic process is expected to begin as early as the next academic year. Students will be able to choose these courses to study and deepen their knowledge in key areas of the financial sector.
