On 28 June 2022, there was a panel session "Law. Tech and Future” as part of the AIFC Law Conference at Astana Finance Days 2022.

The moderator of the panel session, Mark Beer OBE, Chairman of the AIFC Advisory Council on the Development of LegalTech, and the speakers of the panel session, Nail Akhmetzakirov Head of the Department for Ensuring the Activities of Courts at Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Askar Zhambakin, Vice-Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, Holger Zscheyge, President of the European Association of Legal Technologies and Roman Khodykin, Partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner Law Firm, discussed trends in the development of digital legal agenda and recent innovations in LegalTech, GovTech and CourtTech.

During the session, speakers talked about the main achievements of the digitalisation of Kazakhstan's judicial system and the development of GovTech for the legal sector.

Nail Akhmetzakirov, Head of the Department for Ensuring the Activities of Courts at Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, informed the participants of the session about the ongoing work on the digitalisation of justice and the latest IT developments being introduced in the work of the courts.

Askar Zhambakin, Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, shared his colleagues' plans for the development of GovTech and changes that would affect legal practice.

Holger Zscheyge, President of the European Legal Technology Association, and Roman Khodykin, Partner at law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, spoke about the international experience in LegalTech and shared their personal experiences of how lawyers are adapting to the new digital agenda.

Holger Zscheyge: "The digital transformation of the legal business has begun, and lawyers should take advantage of LegalTech. In the 21st century, a lawyer will not be replaced by artificial intelligence, but by another lawyer who uses artificial intelligence in his or her work".
