General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Visits the Astana International Financial Centre

On 7 May, To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, currently on a state visit to Kazakhstan, toured the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

Renat Bekturov, Governor of the AIFC, provided a comprehensive presentation to the distinguished guest, highlighting the Centre’s achievements and its potential to attract investment and foster regional initiatives.

At present, over 3,800 companies from more than 80 countries are registered at the AIFC. Through the Centre’s platform, more than 14.5 billion US dollars in investments have been channelled into Kazakhstan’s economy.

Kazakhstan and Vietnam have forged strong trade and economic ties, both bilaterally and through international agreements, including a free trade regime with the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. Over the past three years (2022–2024), bilateral trade between the two countries reached approximately 2.37 billion US dollars.
