Presidents of Kazakhstan and Slovenia visited the Astana International Financial Centre

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar, during her official visit to Kazakhstan, visited the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).
Renat Bekturov, the AIFC Governor, presented an overview of the AIFC’s structure and strategic objectives.
He emphasized that to date, the AIFC has attracted over USD 14.4 billion in investment, including USD 7.1 billion in portfolio investments through the Astana International Exchange and USD 7.3 billion from companies registered within the financial centre. Also more than 3,700 companies from over 80 countries registered within the AIFC.
The Presidents were also briefed on the functioning of the AIFC Court – the region’s first court operating under common law principles – and the International Arbitration Centre. Discussions also included the role of the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA).
Along with members of the official delegation from Slovenia, the centre was visited by the heads of leading Slovenian companies.
